Learn Korean Verb: 만나다 (Mannada) | 만나요 (Mannayo) – To Meet | Easy Korean for Beginners
When learning Korean, you'll usually find the dictionary form 만나다 (mannada) in dictionaries and online searches.
However, native Korean speakers rarely say 만나다 by itself in everyday conversations. Instead, they use the conjugated form 만나요 (mannayo) when speaking politely.
In this lesson, you'll learn how to use 만나요 through simple, everyday examples. You'll also practice using the Korean particles 와/과 and 을/를, so you can make natural Korean sentences from the very beginning.

Try making your own sentences using other animal names you already know.
For example:
- 강아지와 고양이가 만나요.

Koreans often shorten sentences in casual conversations.
Instead of speaking in full sentences, you'll often hear:
- 남친 만나!
- 여친 만나!
- 친구 만나!
These casual expressions are very common among friends and people of the same age.
💡 "남친" and "여친" are common shortened forms of "남자친구" (boyfriend)
and "여자친구" (girlfriend) in everyday Korean.
