Omona Meaning: What Do "어머" and "어머나" Mean in Korean?

 Have you ever heard someone in a Korean drama suddenly say "Omona!"?

"Omona" is the way many international K-drama fans spell the Korean expression "어머나." The official Revised Romanization is "eomeona." Likewise, "어머" is officially romanized as "eomeo."

Both 어머 (eomeo) and 어머나 (eomeona), often recognized by international K-drama fans as "Omona," are common Korean interjections used to express surprise, admiration, excitement, or even concern. Although they share the same basic meaning, 어머나 usually sounds a little more expressive or emotional than 어머.
